With all the focus on hair care, makeup, diet and exercise as part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and looking good, we neglect the part of our body that works the hardest for us, our feet.  Our feet carry us around all day.  We put them in dressy ill-fitting shoes to enhance our appearance.  They bear our weight and take on a lot of stress, and all of this can lead to problems resulting in us looking for ways to relieve achy feet and more severe problems such as Plantar Fasciitis.

If you find that when you get out of bed in the morning and your feet are painful, you may be suffering from plantar fasciitis.  This can be caused by many things such as being over-weight, or perhaps over doing some activities.   Whether you are suffering from general tiredness, achy feet or the more severe plantar fasciitis here are some helpful ideas you could do to ease the pain in your aching feet.  Many of the items needed for these exercises can be found in your home, so it makes them practically free.

Make Sure You Give A Foot Bath To Your Achy Feet

Give your tired achy feet a foot bath.  If you have a small basin, fill it with warm water and just kick off your shoes and soak those feet. Or if you have a special foot massage basin, close your eyes as you soak them while enjoying the soothing massage.

Give Them A Massage

You could try rolling your aching foot over a small firm ball to massage them.  Nothing feels as good as a great foot massage to ease the pain and to make your feet feel good.  You don’t have to buy anything special, a golf ball or tennis ball works well. However, if you experience pain frequently, you might want to get a good foot massager.

Perform Foot Exercises

Feet need exercise too.  Try placing a small hand towel on the floor and grab in with your toes and try to bring the towel to you by curling your toes.  This is a great way to work the muscles and joints of your feet.

Stretch Your Achy Feet

You can never do too much stretching for your feet.  Here is something you can do before you even get out of bed. It’s called a calf stretch and you can do this by putting a towel or exercise band around the balls of your feet and pull towards you as you push your heels out.  This is a great stretch not only for the arches of your feet, but for your calves as well.

Take Care Of Your Toes And Heels

Here is another great stretch that you can do for your feet before you get out of bed. You can Stretch that plantar fascia just by pulling your toes back and holding your heel back.  Hold this stretch for a good 30 seconds. Do this as often as you can.

Put Ice On Your Feet After Stretching

After you stretch, ice it. Put a bottle of water in the freezer and when it is frozen, take it out and use it to roll your foot over. This not only soothes your tired feet after a long day, but helps relieve the inflammation of plantar fasciitis.  Think of it as a cooling massage.

These are just a few things you can do to help ease the pain of your tired achy feet. Your feet play an important part of your total body health and wellness. Like any diet or exercise program, it takes time to see results.  However, if you start now you will feel the benefits of doing them in no time. And feel some soothing relief right away.
