Woman2Warrior + Guy2Gladiator

Woman2Warrior and Guy2Gladiator are both fun fitness challenges in support of Easter Seals Alberta featuring an optional timed obstacle race of trails and terrain. The course features obstacles to test your strength, agility, balance, and sense of adventure. Each individual or team member must pay a registration fee of $125/each or fundraising one of the three fundraising incentives ($250, $500, $1,000) which qualifies you for ballots for the wonderful prizing.

Fundraising Draw Examples: $250 gets one ballot in that draw (TBA); $500 gets you two ballots in $250 draw and one ballot in $500 draw (TBA); $1,000 get you four ballots in the $250 draw, two ballots in the $500 draw and one ballot in the $1,000 which is a provincial draw (Banff Getaway).

There will be awards & prizes for the top overall individuals and top team fundraisers, as well as for the competitive warriors plus prizing for best dressed individual and best dressed team.

EVENT DAY ACTIVITIES
Warriors and Gladiators are encouraged to bring family and friends to watch and cheer them on from the stands! There will be activities for people of all ages to enjoy on event day:

Pre-Registration for Warriors/Gladiators
Date: Thursday, August 23, 2018
Time: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm - T-shirt and running bib pick-up
Location: Running Room, 8537 - 109 Street, Edmonton Alberta

Event Schedule
Date: Saturday, August 25, 2018
Location: Canadian Forces Base, Edmonton Garrison, Alberta

7:30 am – Registration opens, t-shirt & running bib pick-up (Drill Hall).
7:30 am – Bag check opens (Drill Hall). Please leave your valuables at home.
11:00 am - 4:00 pm - Beer Gardens
11:00 am - 4:00 pm - Kid's Zone
12:00 pm - All final pledges must be submitted to the registration table (Drill Hall)
3:30 pm - 4:00 pm - Closing ceremonies with awards and prizing (main stage)
4:30 pm - Bag check closes. Any unclaimed bags will be returned to the Easter Seals office

Fundraising Initiatives
If you are a fundraising champion, all funds must be submitted (online or dropped off at registration) by 12:00 pm on August 25th to qualify for prizing at the Closing Ceremonies.

Wave Schedule (30/grouping)
Note:  There will be a 5 minute warm up before each wave begins at the start line.

9:00 am; 9:30 am; 10:00 am – Recreation Warriors (all fitness levels; optional timing)
10:30 am; 10:45 am - Warrior/Gladiator Mixed Waves (great for corporate team building)
12:00 pm; 12:30 pm; 1:00 pm - Competitive Warriors (timed)
2:30 pm - Top Competitive Warrior vs. Top Competitive Gladiator Challenge

Competitive Waves (Timed)
Competitive heats are 5 kms with 28 obstacles
All competitive warriors must complete the obstacle or do 10 burpees for each obstacle missed.
Warriors receive a technical shirt at registration and a finishers' medal at the finishing line.
Awards will also be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Student (14-17), Open (18-39) and Masters (40+) at 3:30 pm on the main stage by the start/finish line.

Recreational Waves (All fitness levels)
Recreational heats are 3 kms with 20 obstacles.
All warriors receive a technical shirt at registration and a finishers' medal at the finishing line.

***Please note that if you register a team for a particular wave time every team member must also register for that wave time in order for your team to run together. If the wave time is full, please contact us.


Obstacles
As a warrior you should be prepared to lift, climb, crawl, jump, run/walk, and possibly get a little dirty.
Prizing

The following awards and prizing will be presented at the Closing Ceremonies from 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm on the main stage:

  • Overall Top Fundraising Individual
  • Top Fundraising Team
  • Draw for Fundraisers for $250, $500; $1000 (i.e. If you raise $1000, you get four ballots in the $250 Draw; two ballots in the $500 draw and one ballot in the $1000 provincial draw)
  • Top Competitive Warrior/Gladiator for each category (Student 14-17; Open 18-39; Masters 40+)
  • Best Team Costume
  • Best Individual Costume
