Register today and support Albertans with disabilities and medical conditions
There is a warrior in the heart of every woman. She is strong, determined and powerful. On Sunday, May 28, 2017, over one hundred women will transform into warriors at Woman2Warrior Edmonton, a women’s only charity obstacle adventure race benefiting Easter Seals Alberta.
The event takes place at the Canadian Forces Base, Edmonton Garrison. Women ages 15 and up will traverse obstacles that will test their strength, agility, balance, and sense of adventure over five kilometers of trails and terrain. Participants can register for the competitive division (must do the obstacle or ten burpees) or recreational division.
“We are so excited to be hosting our 2nd Annual Woman2Warrior event at the Canadian Forces Base,” says Darla Zuk, Events Manager at Easter Seals Alberta. ”Women will turn into warriors as they challenge themselves by concurring 20+ obstacles on a 5 km route which include military obstacle, axe throwing and so much more.”
Participants should be prepared to lift, climb, crawl, jump, run and walk. While the details of the obstacles won’t be revealed until the day of the event, the cause is no secret that event participants will help adults and children with disabilities and medical conditions.
“Funds raised at this event go towards the provision of mobility equipment and summer camp programs for people with disabilities and medical conditions in our province,” says Susan Boivin, CEO of Easter Seals Alberta. ”Teams are highly encouraged and there will be no limit to having fun.”
Participants may enter as an individual or as a team, but each person must raise a minimum $300 to participate. There will be prizes for the top overall fundraisers, best costume as well as door prizes.
In addition to the race itself, there will be many exciting activities for warriors, as well as their friends and family, to enjoy including beer gardens, food trucks, Bumper Balls, Small Arms Training, axe throwing, a photo booth, music provided by an onsite DJ, the exhibitors tent, a LAV-6 Military Vehicle and Fire Truck display.
