Our hair is our shining glory. It symbolizes our health, our personality and can tell people a lot about us. After all, having beautiful hair is the crown we never take off; so we better make sure it’s looking preened, polished and gorgeous at all times.

Some people believe that healthy hair can be achieved using expensive products they see from different advertisements, while others think that it helps to visit their favorite salon regularly. What we do not know is that the more we experiment, the more we actually expose our hair to things such as heat damage, breakage and other problems. Stress also plays a big factor in having unhealthy hair. Add up inconsistent personal hygiene routines, and voila – good luck on how it would look afterward.

The secret to having beautiful hair is finding the right hair products and knowing just exactly when to use them. Here are some basic tips that we would like to share to have healthier and more beautiful hair:

1. Excessive blow-drying and ironing daily can damage your hair.

Let it air dry naturally or use a soft towel. Wrap wet hair gently in a towel to prevent split ends. Use a comb instead of a brush to prevent rip and breakage. Also, getting treatments all the time would not be advisable as it only exposes your hair with too much blow-drying and ironing.

2. Consume biotin.

This vitamin promotes the growth of your nails and facilitates skin regeneration. It can be found from foods like Salmon, Banana, Carrots, Chicken, Eggs and Nuts. Boost your intake of fruits and veggies. My mother used to say that when you have long hair, then you will need more nourishment for your body. And that makes sense, right?

3. Use Argan oil.

It has a lot of beneficial effects on your scalp and other parts of the body.. You can use it for split ends and a dry scalp. Choose products that contain argan oil but if you are on a tight budget, you can also use olive oil. Warm a cup of olive oil, comb it in and cover it with plastic.

4. Use a conditioner before and after going for a swim to protect from harsh chemicals.

Most swimming pools have chlorine. Observe how dry your hair becomes after swimming. Definitely hard to tangle out and looks so dull every time we swim. But we all love to swim so we just need to ensure that we don’t do any damage while enjoying swimming.

5. Still, the best advice would be staying well-hydrated.

It is recommended to drink 2 liters of water per day.

While there are a lot of hair hacks we can try, at the end of the day, we need to realize that what we put into our bodies is far more important than what we put on our hair. Diet plays an important role in keeping the skin and hair healthy, so you better stay healthy and hydrated!
