Infertility can be a very difficult process to go through, it is important to broaden your options during this time because you never know what will work for you. Fertility tea is a blend of herbs that may increase fertility and give you a healthier system. These herbs have different health benefits, contain strong antioxidants, folic acid, and they help build the reproductive system. You need to know what exactly you are putting in your system.

Different Herbs Found in Fertility Teas

I explained earlier that fertility is an herbal tea made from blending other teas together. You are probably curious to know more about these other teas, and their benefits. The different teas are as follows:

Red Raspberry Leaf Tea

There are a couple of good personal reviews saying that this tea has been found to improve fertility. It increases the levels of progesterone (a hormone that stimulates the uterus) which may help to improve infertility. It has not been scientifically proven that this tea increases fertility but, it strengthens the uterus which reduces chances of miscarriage. Some women suffer a miscarriage in their first trimester, this tea may be of help to them. The leaf contains antioxidants, vitamins like C, A and nutrients like calcium, iron and magnesium.

Green Tea

Tea lovers will definitely know this one as it is very popular for its delicious taste and its benefits. This tea contains antioxidants and is perfect for increasing fertility in both men and women. Antioxidants like; EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate) which reduces the formation of free radicals and increases the cervical mucus which nourishes the sperm. Also polyphenols which improves blood flow in your body. Green tea is also best for losing weight and keeping hydrated.

Red Clover

This herb contains estrogen and helps to thicken the uterine lining, thereby increasing your fertility. There is no concrete research that shows how red clover increases infertility but, it contains a lot of nutrients that are helpful. It improves circulatory function; increase cervical mucus and can produce more cervical fluids. Cervical mucus is important because it protects the sperm and makes the journey easier when it travels to fertilize the egg.

Nettle Leaf Tea

Also called stinging Nettle leaf because of its stinging qualities, it has little effects when it comes to increasing fertility. Nettle has benefits that make the fertility process easier. It contains minerals like calcium, iron and potassium, vitamins C, K1 and A. It also contains chlorophyll which helps in blood purification and oxygenation.

Peppermint Leaf

This herb spices up the fertility tea with its minty flavor and refreshing taste. It contains minerals like calcium and potassium; it also has antioxidant that keeps your health in check. It is mostly used to give the tea a sweeter taste.

How To Make Fertility Tea

There are different ways to make a fertility tea, put all your dry herbs (the leafs) into an airtight container and store away from direct sunlight. You can use it whenever you need it. You can make a hot fertility tea by covering the herbs in hot water for about 10 minutes, straining out the herbs and adding either lemon or honey (depending on your preference).

You can also make an iced fertility tea by soaking the herbs in a jar of water and leaving it overnight (the jar must be closed), strain out the herbs the next morning and put it in ice. You can enjoy it with either a lemon wedge or honey (also depending on your preference). The reason why you soak the herbs in water is to get out the nutrients.

Pros of Fertility Tea

Fertility teas contain a lot of nutrients: all the herbs used in making this tea contain antioxidants, minerals and vitamins that may improve fertility and strengthens the reproductive system. This tea will give you the important nutrients that you need to conceive.

Hydration: they increase your water intake. These teas are made using water so taking them keeps you hydrated and strong for this process.

Caffeine intake: taking a lot of tea will help to reduce/regulate your caffeine intake. Drinking high amounts of caffeine will have a negative impact on your fertility process. A study done in 1988 showed that drinking more than 85mg of caffeine can reduce the chances of a woman conceiving by 50%. That is a lot, it is advised to stick to your herbal tea that has little or no caffeine.

It is easy to make and tasty to drink: making a fertility tea is a very straightforward process, providing you have your herbs available, everything else is easy. The tea is also tasty to drink, especially with the addition of the peppermint. You don’t have to worry about drinking something bitter.
