In many ways, the primary goal of Kriya Yoga – and all methods of spiritual exploration – is soul prosperity and inner peace. In our world, it can be very difficult to center ourselves and enjoy the benefits of true inner tranquility and harmony.

But when the soul prospers, peace follows. If you’re curious about the relationship between soul prosperity and inner peace and harmony, you’ve come to the right place. Read on, and enlighten yourself about the connection between these important yogic concepts.

What is Soul Prosperity in Kriya Yoga?

It may not surprise you that “soul prosperity” is usually considered to be the counterpoint to physical prosperity.

While physical prosperity is concerned with physical things – income, physical comfort, fulfillment in your job or work, and other such things in the physical world – soul prosperity is concerned with the spiritual.

While these concepts are related, they aren’t one and the same – far from it. It’s possible and common to prosper physically while suffering from a lack of spiritual prosperity. In our materially-focused world, this is all-too-common.

We focus on impermanent physical things like our careers and monetary success over spiritual growth that leads to true fulfillment. Spending too much time on work and not enough time on family, for example, is a manifestation of this.

Soul prosperity, then, is the process of feeding your soul, of spending your time and energy on things that provide spiritual satisfaction and fulfillment rather than physical satisfaction and fulfillment.

Meditating, spending time with loved ones, helping those in need – these are the things that contribute to (and flow from) spiritual prosperity. You are not focusing on the material, everyday things of life – but on the untouchable, metaphysical things that bring true spiritual fulfillment. That is the true meaning of soul prosperity.

How Does Prosperity Bring Peace?

Peace is a natural state of being, and it’s brought about by soul prosperity. When you are spiritually fulfilled and achieve soul prosperity, a feeling of peace, calm, and comfort is the natural result.

The prominence, value, and importance of the spiritual world over the physical world is an important concept in yoga and Eastern religions, and even in Western religions like Christianity. As Jesus Christ himself said in Matthew 19:24, “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

Focusing on the physical world leaves us hollow. We are spiritual creatures above all else – we are more than our jobs, our monetary success, or our physical possessions. And our souls inherently recognize this. So when we prioritize the physical over the spiritual, we feel empty and unfulfilled.

But by placing an equal emphasis on both through spiritual study and techniques like prosperity meditation, we can reach true fulfillment.

So, what is prosperity? It’s the state that we achieve when our physical needs are met – and our souls are able to prosper, as well. In that way, spiritual and physical prosperity are two sides of the same coin.

What Steps Do I Need to Take to Enjoy Peace and Prosperity?

While this will differ for everyone, there are a few steps you can take to enjoy inner peace and spiritual prosperity.

  • Prosperity meditation – Prosperity meditation in Kriya Yoga is a method of joining the spiritual and physical through the concepts of Raja Yoga. Each person practices meditation differently, but with the same goal – inner peace and harmony that helps you reach your inner self, and find the peace that builds both soul prosperity and physical prosperity.
  • Spiritual exploration – Kriya yoga is syncretic. In other words, the focus is on exploring and engaging with philosophy, spirituality, and religions of all types. Insights into the soul, the spirit, and the world can be gathered from many different places – and this is essential to unlocking the potential of your inner self.
  • Practice mindfulness – Turmoil in our physical lives can block us from connecting with our inner selves, and enjoying true peace and prosperity. It’s important to be mindful and recognize these situations – and take steps to center yourself and focus on your spiritual needs.

Focus on Your Spirit And its Needs – and Enjoy Peace and Prosperity

There’s no “magic bullet” to unlocking peace and prosperity. But if you focus on your spiritual practices, connecting with the true reality of existence, and take steps to bring your soul into harmony with the metaphysical world, you will live a more comfortable, prosperous, and peaceful life.

Whether you follow Kriya Yoga or any other spiritual practice, you can find inner peace and tranquility. As the term “inner,” suggests, it’s been within you all along – you simply need to put in the work to unlock your true spiritual potential.
