Similarly, when it comes to learning a language, studying a lot in one go will tire your brain out and new information is unlikely to stick.

Burn your calories

When it comes to learning a new language, you set off with a plan on how you are going to make learning this new skill work for you. For example, you should make sure that whatever vocabulary you are learning will be used and not gone to waste.

It would be pointless learning medical terminology in a foreign language if you don’t require it or won’t be using it.

Change up your meals

If your main aim is to learn a language fully, then you need to cover the ins and outs of the language. That means learning vocabulary, spelling,  grammar and punctuation. It would be pointless focusing on spelling only for example as it just wouldn’t work out.

Similarly, when it comes to food, sticking to one type of food is not good for your body. You need to supply your body with all the required nutrients from various meals to keep your body healthy and strong.

Be careful what you choose

Think of a time you were sitting in a restaurant and ordered food you were curious about but ended up hating. While at a restaurant, you are provided with a big menu to pick and choose food from, it may be difficult to pick just one.

There are several options that appear appealing, but you know from experience that you would not enjoy them.

If you are learning a language and hate specific lessons or some parts of the course, just skip it and focus on what works best for you. That does not mean you need to skip the basics. But if your course is mostly teaching you from a book, go for a video course instead if it is not working out for you.

You need to understand what works best for you, and if you are bored learning a language from a book, you just need to shake it up.
