The Premier League 2022-2023 season is closer and closer to starting. The Premier League kicks off on August 6th. The opening game features Crystal Palace vs Arsenal at Selhurst Park.

You can check out Premier League picks to check out odds for team and player props for the 2022-2023 season. The two title contenders Manchester City recently announced Erling Haaland, and Liverpool has recently announced Darwin Nunez. Fabrizio Romano recently announced that Sterling has signed for Chelsea from Manchester City, and Spurs have signed Richarlison from Everton.

Disappointing Finish

Arsenal finished the season in 5th place and will compete in the Europa League. They missed out on the Champions League in a disappointing fashion. With three games and 4 points ahead of the Spurs, they lost to Spurs and Newcastle but won to Everton. It did not matter unless their biggest rival Spurs lost to the bottom of the league, already relegated to Norwich. After missing out on the Champions League, Mikel Arteta will face a big challenge in recruiting quality players that want to play in the Europa League.

After a successful transfer window last year, Arsenal Football Club Mikel Arteta is looking to solidify his team into the top four of the Premier League to secure the Champions League. It is like he’s pushing the Premier League predictions to the most favorable to the team.

Another huge aspect of 2022-2023 for the north London club is to reach the latter stages of the Europa League, FA Cup, and League Cup. A reminder is that Arsenal Football Club did not have European Football last year, so it will be pivotal for the success of Arsenal to bring squad depth to North London to balance numerous competitions.

Achilles Heel of Arsenal

Arsenal needs to sign another attacking player (striker or winger), a midfielder, and a left-back. The Achilles heel of Arsenal last season was that they lacked a squad beyond the first team. Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney picked up injuries, and the squad struggled during this period of time during the season.

Europa League teams: competition in Manchester?

The other Europa League club Manchester United is having a slow summer. They are on the hunt for a talented midfielder from Barcelona named Frenkie De Jong, who used to play under new manager Erik Ten Hag at Ajax. There are also questions about whether Cristiano Ronaldo will be in a Manchester United shirt next year.

Transfer Market Activity for Arsenal

The 2022 summer transfer market has started off well for Arsenal fans. The 2021-2022 introduced signings of Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Aaron Ramsdale, Nuno Tavares, and Albert Lokonga. A year later, After a year finishing without Europe in 8th place, Arsenal will now compete in the Europa League and have to balance multiple competitions. Therefore, they definitely need to strengthen in certain positions.

New signings: more to come

Arsenal have signed Gabriel Jesus from champions Manchester City and have also signed Fabio Vieira from FC Porto. Additionally, they signed Matt Turner and Marquinhos. In addition to Jesus, they need another attacking player, a midfielder (potentially two), and a backup left-back to challenge Kieran Tierney.

Notable outgoings & loans

Notable outgoings include Alexander Lacazette to Lyon and Matteo Guendouzi to Marseille.

The London club has also signed Eddie Nketiah and Mohamed Elneny to new contracts to stay at the Emirates. Eddie Nketiah ran out of contract at the end of the 2022 season by putting in some really impressive performances. Mohamed Elneny is considered a great squad player and a quality addition to the locker room.

There are also a bunch of loaned players returning to the squad. Whether or not they’ll be permanently sold is up to Arsenal but it seems that some players are destined to stay. William Saliba is one of the players that Arsenal fans are truly looking forward to staying and competing for the spot as a central defender against Ben White and Gabriel. With those returnings to the team some Premier League predictions today could assure you that this is Arsenal’s season.

Overall, Arsenal need to increase their activity in the transfer market as we approach their summer tour to Orlando and Baltimore. The season is right around the corner, and technical director Edu needs to get on the phone so they don’t lose again in the first game of the season.
