Armed with the controversial Nike Vaporfly running shoe, the 34-year-old smashed the world record in Berlin, shaving a whopping one minute and eighteen seconds from the previous best time ever recorded. Maintaining such remarkable speed over such a long period of time, combined with his high-altitude training in his native country, make Kipchoge just the man to provide our sporting cyborg with its cardio engine.
