As the days become shorter and the air becomes colder, many of us head back indoors to continue our pursuit of health and fitness. Some of us find our way onto the ice, whether outside or in an arena, to take up winter sports and activities like figure skating, hockey, shinny, or just spending time with friends and family working up an appetite for post-skating hot chocolate. For more serious and competitive athletes, being on the ice isn’t just a winter activity – it’s something they are dedicated to year-round.

Regardless of your age or ability, or even your winter sport of choice, the ice offers an opportunity for us to learn grace, balance, precision, and power. Figure skating combines exceptional athleticism with artistic qualities to produce breathtaking performances. Hockey offers athletes and spectators the thrill and excitement of team competition and player tenacity. Though one might expect that Canadians are born with the natural ability to skate and shoot a puck, we know that every athlete is supported by coaching, practice, commitment, and dedication.

The Royal Glenora Club (RGC) is proud to be a Skate Canada Skating Club that offers CanSkate, Pre-CanSkate, StarSkate, and Competitive Skate programs. The RGC is home to the 2020 Pre-Novice Ladies Champion and 2019 Pre-Juvenile Ladies, Juvenile Ladies, and Pre-Novice Champions, not to mention their legacy of former World and Olympic Champions.
